CMR November 2012

Last Sunday, November 25, I attended the monthly CMR (Critical Mass Ride) organized by the Firefly Brigade. The meet up was at Emerald Ave., Ortigas Center, Pasig City. It was attended by over 200 cyclists. We rode from Pasig City to Ayala Triangle, Makati City. It was not a long route, in fact it was too short a ride. Usually a CMR would be at least 25KM but this was I think less than 12KM. But it was ok because it was also the same day that Makati was promoting their own Carless Sundays program around Ayala Triangle. So it was still nice.

After the ride, some of my biker girl friends, dubbed as #Mamech rode to Legaspi Market to grab some grub. After eating lunch we decided to ride some more. In summary we biked to shop, to buy some bread, to look at bike shops, to eat some more, and to hangout, and I got home around 11pm. It was epic! Rides are definitely more fun with #Mamech.

One of our stops was at this local bike shop in Paco Manila. They were selling all types of 2nd hand bikes.

See you at the next CMR! Ride safe.

14th TOF (Tour Of the Fireflies)

15,000 cyclists joined this year’s 14th TOF (Tour Of the Fireflies) Organized by The Firefly Brigade in partnership with Tiktok Pilipinas & Dakila – Philippine Collective for Modern Heroism.

Riding with the pelaton from 6:30am to 11:30am. We started at Tiendesitas, Pasig City and rode through the cities of Marikina, Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, and back to Pasig City. A total of 35KM.

It’s more fun with cycling chic bikers.

That’s me in black, right side, behind the girl with white helmet. We tailed the Castillo family almost all the time to be in his GoPro-shot photos.

After the ride, I had the opportunity and pleasure to perform during the awarding and afterparty hosted by Tiktok Pilipinas and Dakila.

Then we partied hard. Dancing to the live performances of Jeepney Joyride, Color It Red, and The Jerks.
